The U.S. Postal Service reported one of its strongest peak seasons during the 2021 holiday season.

The Postal Service processed more than 13.2 billion pieces of mail. He said in an emailed statement that it takes, on average, less than three days to deliver a package during the holidays.

The Postal Service added that the Lancaster fulfillment and distribution center processed 7.6 million packages between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

ShipMatrix reported in December that over a 2 week period, 96.9% of packages reached customers on time.

However, some areas still struggled with service and delays. Courier services have been reduced to three days a week in rural Adams County. A Linglestown post office briefly stopped accepting packages. There are also fears that other post offices in the region are closing.
