the US Postal Service – seeking to meet the changing needs of the business world – made New Jersey one of the first states where it launched USPS connectionfour delivery services that will offer same-day and next-day delivery options from more than 300 locations across the state.
The service, which made a soft launch on February 28, will officially launch on Wednesday afternoon at the Toms River Post Office.
Postmaster General Louis DeJoy said USPS Connect will give businesses of all sizes what they’ve been asking for — an affordable way to meet consumer demand for fast delivery, he said.
“A focal point of our Delivering for America plan, it allows us to fully leverage our network’s capacity to increase volume and revenue so we can continue to serve the American people with affordable mail and package delivery. and reliable,” he said.
DeJoy said all four options take advantage of ongoing network improvements, new equipment, new pricing and improved operational accuracy to meet changing business package delivery needs.
The four USPS Connect business solutions:
- Local USPS connection: A new way for local businesses to reach local customers quickly and affordably. USPS Connect Local offers affordable next-day service at all locations, with options for same-day delivery, Sunday delivery, and pickup at select locations. This offer also includes USPS Connect Local Mail, an affordable first-class mail option for documents up to 13 ounces. Businesses can pick up USPS Connect Local packages and mail at the designated postal facility’s receiving dock or take advantage of free en-route pickup when their carrier delivers their mail. Free flat rate bags, boxes and envelopes are available through Click-N-Ship.
- Regional USPS Connect: It allows regional entry and next day delivery of Parcel Select and Parcel Select Lightweight packages. Businesses should consult with USPS officials to identify entry points and options that work best for them. Most packages will be delivered next day to a specified region.
- USPS Connect Domestic: It provides delivery solutions for businesses of all sizes. They can benefit from new mail-handling equipment and the Postal Service’s reconfigured network to receive reliable package delivery through First Class Parcel Service, Parcel Select Ground and Retail Ground.
- USPS Connect Returns: A service for businesses to offer their customers convenient returns, with free pickup en route by their carrier or drop off at a nearby post office.
“We listened carefully to our business customers to develop this program,” said Jakki Krage Strako, Head of Commerce and Business Solutions.
“We are increasing next day deliveries. We also offer small businesses large business pricing and more friendly ways for all businesses to interact with us.
